About the Role
You will be employed within the Process Engineering team at the Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter on a 6 Month fixed Term Contract. Your relevant experience and skillset will determine the scope of your duties and function: The successful person will specialise in one of these areas listed below:
- Area monitoring and troubleshooting,
- Project work
- Leadership role developing team systems and skills.
The team works with multiple stakeholders including engineers, production and maintenance personnel, to identify and implement functional solutions.

About You
The following skills and attributes will be highly desirable:
- Specialist Prod Process Engineering capability
- Effective communication
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Working to priorities and a plan
- Identifying and solving operational bottlenecks
- Continuous improvement
- Degree qualification – chemical engineering, metallurgy or equivalent. We encourage other tertiary backgrounds to apply including engineering / science / commerce / education
- Prefer experience in an engineering role on an operational plant. Pyrometallurgy (furnace), Utilities (acid, water, air) or small projects engineering experience.
- Other experience highly regarded but not essential includes technical writing, data analysis, creating and delivering training packages, database work, root cause analysis tool use, process control optimisation, process simulation, continuous improvement.
