A great opportunity has opened for a qualified Diesel Mechanic to join our Asset Management department, within the Services & Utilities Team at Bell Bay Aluminium.

Reporting to our Crew Leader and working a 7x day fortnight rotating roster (12 hr shifts) you’ll be:

  • Managing planned and breakdown maintenance across our variety of heavy mobile fleet, including equipment unique to our smelter
  • Communicating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Utilising your leadership skills through mentorship of our Apprentices
  • Working autonomously as well as within a team

What you’ll bring

We are seeking our next team member to bring a commitment to safety, joining a small team of Tradespersons and Apprentices. You’ll have a desire to work in a well-established maintenance environment and can drive continuous improvement initiatives. In return, you’ll grow your skillset working with modern electronics and unique heavy industry gear. You’ll bring:

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Trade qualification
  • Air conditioning and Auto-Electrical experience is highly regarded, though not mandatory
  • Sound computer skills
  • Flexibility to adopt potential changes in roster patterns or night shifts if required
  • Good problem-solving capabilities
  • Current C class drivers licence
