Process Operator Experienced 

Work Location: Port Hedland - Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

Roster: 4D4N6R - residential in Port Hedland

Reporting to the Port Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the fixed plant is operated in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Fortescue's Safety Systems and Procedures, Visions and Values.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Demonstrate positive workplace behaviour and Team Membership supporting Port Operations
  • Engage with other departments at Port and the supply chain to assist with issues that may affect productivity
  • Ensure a positive safety culture by reporting all hazards/incidents to your Supervisor and manage or control any risk
  • Review sample station results to ensure product is within specification and production is maximised
  • Identify and escalate ideas on process improvements
  • Identify, repair or control minor defects on all plant and equipment
  • Plan and prioritise tasks effectively to maximise production time (as assigned by Supervisor)
  • Running the shift in the absence of Operations Supervisor
  • Maintain regular contact with members of your team and communicate any issues or concerns and check their welfare

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Extensive exposure in a mining/mineral or processing facility (desirable)
  • Shiploading experience (desirable)
  • Control Room knowledge systems experience
  • Bulk materials handling experience
  • Previous Port experience with current MSIC (desirable)
  • Positive can do attitude that focuses on development for team & self
  • SAP system knowledge (desirable)
