Process Operator - Refinery

The Opportunity – Process Operator (Refinery) - Based in Collie, in South-West of WA – Permanent role

The purpose of this role is to safely execute production activities according to the schedule and operate the physical assets, plant and equipment in accordance with process standards, HSEC and operating procedures.

Our integrated Bauxite Mine, Alumina Refinery and Port Operation is creating the essential products needed for a sustainable low carbon future.

This role will be offered on a Permanent basis.

Location

This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.

As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie.

Accountabilities 

Primary responsibilities are to:

• Receive handover and work assignment, ensuring that the scope & scope is understood
• Perform routine work and escorts in accordance with Clearance to Work Procedures
• Execute work as per Supervisor work assignment.
• Executes work safely
• Follow procedures for tasks and identify improvements
• Handing over to the next team ensuring it is a quality handover log & capturing data on work performed and subsequent follow-up
• Maintain housekeeping to standard.
• Achieve KPIs for Safety, Production, Quality and Cost as per Business Plan
• Complete train loading and unloading activities
• Inspect and run plant equipment

About You  

• Willingness to drive training
• Capable in analysing and interpreting complex data
• Demonstrates sound judgement and the ability to work under pressure
• Skilled in problem solving and fault finding
• Cert 3 in process plant operations or equivalent preferred but not essential
• Available to work a shift type roster
