The role of a Process Operator/Metal Sampler Technician is vital to the success of our business. Working in a strong team environment you will be responsible for supporting Metal Product Services department to ensure the safe and sustainable production of aluminum through the operation of mobile and fixed plant equipment in conjunction with manual duties.
Some of the key responsibilities of a Process Operator/Metal Sampler Technician include:
- Process operations including Mould Servicing workflow, launder maintenance, water system maintenance and monitoring, receiving goods, ABF servicing & preparation etc.
- Ensuring adherence to various metal sampling methods in accordance with the planned casting schedule, aligned with business requirements.
- Driving mobile equipment as required (including forklifts & excavator)
- Process operations – examples include using control panels, interacting with hot metal, operating fixed plant equipment, using hand tools, equipment isolation and de-isolation, process sampling, and housekeeping
- Operating gantry & jib cranes
- Utilizing specialized equipment, product inspection, trouble shooting and quality control
- Effective Utilizing downtime optimize Metal Product Services operations
- Meticulous in every task by thoroughly reviewing all aspects, ensuring accuracy, consistency and high standards of quality
- Adherence to Site Safety expectations and standards
What you will bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Proven experience working in an industrial environment trade or process
- Current valid drivers licence
- Demonstrating flexibility of work hours to meet business needs
- A safety focused mindset
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively as part of a team and to autonomously manage your workload
- A willingness and ability to work in a labour-intensive role in hot environments; involving confined space and working at heights.
- Operating mobile equipment which could include forklift, Excavator, overhead gantry crane – preferrable
