Fortescue is now consistently producing over 180 million tonnes of iron ore per year and has an exciting future ahead as it diversifies its business to become an integrated, global green energy and resources company.

Iron Bridge is Fortescue’s US$2.6 billion project, set to deliver 22mtpa of high grade 67% Fe magnetite concentrate product. Located 145km by road south of Port Hedland, the mine will deliver an innovative process design and industry-leading energy efficient operation.

Iron Bridge represents Fortescue’s latest operation culminating in a new OPF/CHF, new technologies and camp facilities. Fortescue is currently seeking expressions of interest from mining experienced Process Operators with relevant experience within the concentrate handling facilities (CHF) fixed plant.

Work Location: Iron Bridge Concentrate Handling Facility (CHF) Port Hedland - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge CHF project is located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people. 

Roster: 8D6R7N7R FIFO Ex Perth

Key accountabilities:

  • Commitment towards safety and demonstrate strong company values
  • Perform efficient operation of the ore processing facility and follow standard work instructions
  • Conduct daily inspections of process equipment and reporting
  • Provide quality shift handovers, verbal, electronic and maintain daily log
  • Look for production opportunities and escalate issues directly
  • Establish collaborative team environment with positive communication skills
  • Identify hazards in the work environment and resolve them in an efficient and timely manner
  • Follow and support FMG Corporate and site procedures, and tasks delegated from your supervisor

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Experience operating wet processing plants including equipment such as high-rate thickeners, vacuum belt filters, flocculent dosing systems, polishing filters, and other fixed plant dewatering assets
  • Excellent communication skills via 2-way radio
  • High safety standards and development of work instructions
  • Ability to risk assess and apply controls for all tasks
  • Exposure to control room applications advantageous i.e., SCADA
  • High Risk Work Licence - Forklift & EWP
  • Mobile plant experience – HR Licence, Front end loader, skid steer & telehandler desirable
