Fortescue has an exciting future ahead. As well as producing over 180 million tonnes of iron ore per year, we’re diversifying our business to become an integrated global green energy and resources company.

The company is scheduled to commence production at its Iron Bridge magnetite mine in mid-2022.

Iron Bridge is Fortescue’s US$2.6 billion project, set to deliver 22mtpa of high grade 67% Fe magnetite concentrate product. Located 145km by road south of Port Hedland, the mine will deliver an innovative process design and industry-leading energy efficient operation.

Iron Bridge represents Fortescue’s latest operation culminating in a new OPF/CHF, new technologies and camp facilities. Fortescue is currently seeking expressions of interest from mining experienced Process Operators with relevant experience within the Ore Processing Facility (OPF) fixed plant.

Fixed Plant Process Operators

Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

Roster: 7D7N7R (2:1) FIFO ex Perth

Key accountabilities will include: 

  • Commitment towards safety and demonstrate strong company values
  • Perform efficient operation of the ore processing facility and follow standard work instructions
  • Conduct daily inspections of process equipment and reporting
  • Provide quality shift handovers, verbal, electronic and maintain daily logs
  • Look for production opportunities and escalate issues directly
  • Establish collaborative team environment with positive communication skills
  • Identify hazards in the work environment and resolve them in an efficient and timely manner
  • Follow and support Fortescue Corporate and site procedures, and tasks delegated by your supervisor

Qualifications and skills desirable:

  • Experience operating large scale wet or dry processing plants
  • Excellent communication skills via 2-way radio
  • High safety standards and development of work instructions
  • Ability to risk assess and apply controls
  • Exposure to control room applications advantageous
  • HRWL - EWP, LF, DG, RB and  current drivers licence, 
  • Mobile plant experience – Front end loader, skid steer, overhead crane and telehandler desirable
