Maintenance Technician – Electrician
Work Location: Cloudbreak
- Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
Roster: 2 weeks on 2 weeks off FIFO Perth or Bussleton
This fulltime position is within our Processing Plant. You will provide safe, effective and timely electrical maintenance to our equipment and ancillaries to optimise plant operational capacity.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Performing repairs, installations and any work required to set up, align or otherwise prepare for operation, all electronic and instrumentation equipment/systems.
- Performing operational checks, monitoring performance and related maintenance to identify and diagnose instrumentation electronic and electrical performance problems.
- Performing technical evaluations, fault finding and diagnosing problems and taking timeous corrective action.
- Decommissioning and disposal of equipment as appropriate.
- Performing on-the-job coaching as required.
- Monitoring trends to make recommendations for inventory control.
- Statutory testing and inspections
- Carrying out tasks within Time, Budget and standard.
- Performing detail design, device programming, configuration & calibration on equipment.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Electrical trade qualification
- Current WA 'A' class electrical workers licence
- High voltage switching certificate
- Certificate IV in instrumentation (desired)
- Minimum 3 years experience as electrical tradesperson or Electrical / Instrumentation Technician in a continuous operating plant environment
- Proven experience in PLC systems and control communication systems
- Profibus installation and maintenance certification desirable
- Proven experience in the maintenance and trouble shooting of Variable Speed Drives
- Competent understanding of electrical schematics, isolation and permitting systems
- Experience in computer based maintenance systems - SAP/Microsoft Office suite
