Process Safety Engineer - Manufacturing
Work location: Dawson Rd., Perth Airport, WA
Roster: Monday to Friday
Key responsibilities:
- Performing process safety and risk engineering duties within various project phases including planning, design, construction, testing, operation and maintenance
- Coordinating and / or facilitating safety studies including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL Determination, Consequence Modelling, Bowtie Analysis and Pre Start-up Safety Review
- Facilitation of operational risk assessments and SFARP assessments
- Coordinating the development of Safety Requirements Specifications for safety instrumented functions
- Providing guidance to project teams on regulatory requirements, safety study requirements and resolution of technical safety queries
- Technical review of safety study reports and close out of safety study actions
- Identifying safety critical elements and implementing performance standards
- Contributing to the development of standards, procedures, guidelines and training materials for the effective implementation of the Process Safety Management System
- Ensuring process safety standards are applied consistently to all phases of projects
Qualifications and skills required:
- Tertiary qualification in engineering
- Experience in chemical processing, petrochemical or related industry
- Experience in coordination and facilitation of process safety studies
- Knowledge of applicable statutory requirements, Australian and international codes and standards
- Excellent engagement skills across all business levels
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Ability to operate in a dynamic and challenging environment
- Experience with functional safety is highly desirable.
- Experience with hydrogen or automated assembly lines is highly desirable
