Process Safety Engineer - Manufacturing

Process Safety Engineer - Manufacturing 

Work location: Dawson Rd., Perth Airport, WA

Roster: Monday to Friday

Key responsibilities:

• Performing process safety and risk engineering duties within various project phases including planning, design, construction, testing, operation and maintenance
• Coordinating and / or facilitating safety studies including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL Determination, Consequence Modelling, Bowtie Analysis and Pre Start-up Safety Review
• Facilitation of operational risk assessments and SFARP assessments
• Coordinating the development of Safety Requirements Specifications for safety instrumented functions
• Providing guidance to project teams on regulatory requirements, safety study requirements and resolution of technical safety queries
• Technical review of safety study reports and close out of safety study actions
• Identifying safety critical elements and implementing performance standards
• Contributing to the development of standards, procedures, guidelines and training materials for the effective implementation of the Process Safety Management System
• Ensuring process safety standards are applied consistently to all phases of projects

Qualifications and skills required:

• Tertiary qualification in engineering
• Experience in chemical processing, petrochemical or related industry
• Experience in coordination and facilitation of process safety studies
• Knowledge of applicable statutory requirements, Australian and international codes and standards
• Excellent engagement skills across all business levels
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Advanced MS Office skills
• Ability to operate in a dynamic and challenging environment
• Experience with functional safety is highly desirable.
• Experience with hydrogen or automated assembly lines is highly desirable
