About the Role
- Multiple opportunities available for both entry level and experienced Process Technicians within the Kalgoorlie Smelter operation.
- Positions available within furnace, converter and services departments with ongoing development opportunities within BHP
- Residential role with a close-knit community atmosphere as well as an even time shift roster – 2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off

We are looking for motivated and adaptable individuals to join our BHP Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter team. At Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter, we receive nickel concentrate from our mining operations in Leinster and Mt Keith as well as from our Third Party Feed concentrator in Kambalda. Nickel West Kalgoorlie incorporates a flash furnace smelter, converters and an acid plant, which has the capacity to produce up to 110,000 tonnes per annum of nickel matte. This role will provide you with a wide and varied experience in process operations that are applicable to many different industries, giving you skills and knowledge that is highly sort after in the resources industry.
About You
- Current or previous Process Technician experience is desirable, however is not essential. Entry-level positions are available, with all training supplied.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to handle minor maintenance projects
- Strong understanding of production processes
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical devices desirable
- Show initiative and be able to work unsupervised
- Able to handle a complexity of tasks efficiently
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong orientation to safe work practices – High safety focus
