Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 20% of the world’s manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent Full-Time position on a 4:3 roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns. Residential on Groote Eylandt considered.  

As the Processing Coordinator, you will be providing support to the processing team ensuring safe and efficient operation of the concentrator and equipment.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Coordinate plant maintenance, ensuring equipment availability for planned work, overseeing operational activities related to planned maintenance and scheduled shutdowns
• Identify, execute, and support projects that deliver risk reduction, people, or work routine efficiencies, cost, and plant performance improvements
• Provide a critical link between the operational team with both internal and external stakeholders to promote and realise opportunities to add value

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Prior experience in a similar role within an operating process plant - Mining or Heavy Industry
• Demonstrated ability to contribute, influence and make decisions within multi-functional teams
• Effectively communicate across departments to ensure minimum disruptions to the plant and production

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Current C Class Driver’s Licence
