Procure-to-Pay Senior Specialist

Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: Monday to Friday

As Procure-to-Pay Senior Specialist, you are passionate, detail driven, enthusiastic and willing to step-up to the challenge of being part of an innovative and achievement-driven organisation. You will provide thought leadership in best practice work processes, support the identification/development/implementation of process changes to ensure the Procurement Services department stays up to date with the latest work processes in the industry and overall facilitate collaboration amongst team members and stakeholders.

You will work closely with the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Process Owners to standardise Fortescue’s P2P processes. Collaborating with stakeholders across Fortescue, you will assist with P2P design, develop roadmaps for implementation, improve existing work processes and provide expert project management capabilities to oversee the end-to-end delivery of improvement initiatives from ideation to completion.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work cooperatively with procurement leadership and cross functional stakeholders to drive best practice adoption, optimise system utilisation and continuous process improvement outcomes
  • Lead continuous process improvements, provide business process guidance for application enhancements and manual task automation with a view to increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Serve as the Organisation's Procure-to-Pay subject matter expert
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of opportunities for sustainable procurement process standards and quality principles across Purchasing and Materials Management
  • Identify technology and process improvement opportunities, develop plans to close gaps and implement process improvements for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Plan and manage delivery of system and process changes including change management to facilitate project deliverables
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation and senior management, including presenting project deliverables to steering committees and project sponsors
  • Collaborate with Fortescue stakeholders to ensure regular update of policies & procedures as well as adjustment of P2P processes

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Procure-to-Pay subject matter expertise
  • High degree of computer literacy (Microsoft 365 suite, Office, Visio, and Power Platform)
  • Experience with project management software and tools (Jira Work Management, Confluence)
  • Cross-functional experience in a large procurement department with exposure to purchasing, category management, supply chain management, shared services, systems, etc
  • Highly developed influencing and people engagement skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively either as an individual or member of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new information, processes, and procedures
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical judgement and evaluation skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, determine priorities and organise work to meet objectives and identify and deal with problems
  • Genuine interest in business process standardisation and improvement initiatives
  • Experience with organisational change management as well as working in a multicultural environment
  • Experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management methodologies and frameworks (Lean Six Sigma, Agile, PMBOK, etc)
