We are looking for a Buy Local Analyst to join the Procurement team in Perth to support processes, tools and collaborative workplace environments that will encourage greater awareness and participation from local and Indigenous businesses on the West Coast of Australia. This role will be to primarily support the collaboration of our Buy Local strategy offering to those teams.
Rio Tinto Procurement provides supply chain services that deliver value to the Rio Tinto Group through the strategic sourcing and buying of goods and services for all operations and businesses. Playing a fundamental role, value will be achieved through appreciating all leverages of value including social outcomes, sustainable development goals and cost savings.
About the role
This role is a great opportunity for someone who has strong change management and stakeholder engagement skills with interest of Indigenous and local engagement processes and ecosystems. Reporting to the Senior Specialist Buy Local, you will:
- Possess passion for sustainable procurement practices and support the procurement teams in tender evaluation processes that include these elements
- Be involved with administrative work to deliver outcomes on market engagements
- Support the procurement teams with supplier triage, supporting early identification of issues and avenues where Rio Tinto can support
- Regularly and positively engage with Indigenous and local businesses
- Drive greater participation in sourcing opportunities and support building capabilities within local businesses
About you
- A passion for sustainability, environmental, social, and governance within a business context will be vital
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- An established knowledge in procurement/category management will be well considered
- Bachelor level tertiary qualification
