The RTP Sustaining Capital Team is looking for a Procurement Business Partner to join the procurement function supporting the Sustaining Capital portfolio.
The successful candidate will lead the Bulk Earthworks & Water teams, responsible for delivering the end to end procurement accountabilities for the respective categories.
This is a great opportunity for an effective leader who can thrive in a transitional environment by possessing strong strategic, commercial and influencing skills. The successful candidate needs to demonstrate success in team leadership and a proven ability to deliver value through commercial excellence. Experience in project sourcing and managing large value construction or site services contracts is beneficial to the role.
Reporting to the Senior Business Partner, Sustaining Capital and a member of the Sus Cap Procurement leadership team, you will possess:
Leadership skills to develop and mentor a team of Contracts Superintendents & Specialists fostering an environment of growth, continuing to embed Rio values of Everyday Respect, Care, Courage and Curiosity,
Ability to build an integrated team supporting collaboration, seeking opportunities to leverage and align on commercial strategies across RTP
Excellent stakeholder engagement demonstrating influencing capability to achieve group priorities
An ongoing improvement mindset to support the Sustaining Capital program implementation
Well developed negotiation skills with demonstratable strategic thinking to resolve complex negotiations
A holistic and robust approach to safety, construction contract management, risk, change and project management across your assigned portfolio ensuring that all material risks are identified and managed.
What you will bring
Exceptional level of stakeholder engagement skills;
University degree in either a technical or commercial discipline
Demonstrated success in category management or strategic / project roles
Ability to create a vision, and present information and analysis to support complex category and sub-category strategies
Experience managing small teams and a desire to build on relationships to drive performance and creativity
Understanding of end to end procurement processes including category led buying channels
Strong negotiation skills and demonstrated experience leading complex contract negotiations
Effective time management and project management skills to balance multiple and competing priorities
Proficiency in using Excel, Word, PowerPoint and, ideally, PowerBI
Ability to work effectively and productively to support a strong team environment with an expected high degree of individual autonomy (and accountability)
A background in project procurement is desirable
