About the roleAs a Specialist Category Management, you will play a vital role in assisting projects aimed at delivering commercially favourable contracts and maximising value for the Rio Tinto Business Unit. You'll be instrumental in gathering domain knowledge and market analysis to identify sources and drivers of value creation through purchasing.Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will be responsible for gathering and analysing domain knowledge and market data to drive value creation through purchasing, overseeing interns, graduates, off-shore personnel, and analysts. Additionally, you will develop and execute category strategies across various levels, presenting them to senior Rio Tinto Procurement leaders for approval.You'll also play a key role in fostering stakeholder relationships both internally and externally throughout sourcing project delivery and implementation. Furthermore, you'll manage contract execution, implementation, and supplier reviews for assigned contracts or projects, ensuring smooth and effective contract management processes.What You'll BringStrong analytical skills: Knack for gathering and analysing market data effectively with a demonstrated track record in developing and implementing category strategies.Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder management abilities.Project Management experience: Showcasing a proven ability to juggle multiple projects and consistently deliver results within designated timelines.
