We are looking for a values driven leader, teamwork oriented and trusted Senior Business Partner to join our Procurement community to deliver sustainable value to our stakeholders, specifically supporting the Sustaining Capex team of the Iron Ore business division.
In this role you will be a key senior leader of our Procurement team who supports the Rio Tinto Iron Ore strategy, and you will lead a talented team who:
- Is the focal point of procurement for Sustaining Capex, Iron Ore, and aligns the Global and Regional procurement strategies to the needs of our assets
- Builds partnerships to innovate and deliver safe productive maintenance and operations
- Implements our decarbonization approach, and,
- Expands our engagement with local and regional supplier markets.

The Senior Business Partner leads a team who works with the business to identify, build and translate business strategies, objectives and context into procurement strategies, and deliver upon them. Reporting to the General Manager Procurement, Australia West, you will be:
- Leading a team as a values driven leader committed to your people.
- Bringing your expertise to the broader Procurement division, to deliver sustainable value beyond monetary value.
- The procurement arm of the Sustaining Capex team to deliver projects across our assets.
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, your strong leadership capability and commitment to our values-based culture will be integral. Your influencing and strong communication skills will be key to your success in this role.
Your procurement experience and commercial acumen are exceptional, you are the trusted partner for your team, the procurement and Sustaining Capex leadership. Ideally you will have experience in the Resources or Energy Sector.
It is important for you to deliver through communication and coaching skills and have the ability to anticipate future business needs and requirements. You will apply an appropriate degree of risk in the application of novel and innovative solutions toward business challenges and opportunities.
A change and business developer mindset, with a passion towards sustainability and leading commercial transformation is important to succeed, as well as the ability to build a positive reputation through dealing openly, fairly and consistently.
