About the role

We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to join the team in Brisbane.

As part of our commitment to advance Indigenous leadership across our business, we have a number of dedicated roles to support and accelerate Indigenous professionals in our Procurement function.

This includes the opportunity to participate in an accelerated development pathway to a Procurement Business Partner role, consisting of three rotations over an 18-month period to build business knowledge, relationships and project delivery across different parts of the Procurement function.

You will enjoy working as part of the East Coast Procurement team, collaborating with a range of stakeholders to influence and manage a broad portfolio of work. You have a passion for process improvement and transformation.

Reporting to a Procurement Business Partner you will;

  • Research and update knowledge of relevant categories and sub-categories to identify opportunities for improvement based on industry and market research, organisational priorities, supply chain risk and commercial opportunities.
  • Support development of stakeholder engagement plans to help formalise effective and collaborative relationships with a broad and varied group of global business units.
  • Provide commercial leadership and guidance to the relevant stakeholder teams.
  • Build and grow relationships with key suppliers to drive innovation and value through a formal Supplier Relationship Management process.
  • Work with complex data sets and the data warehouse team to perform comprehensive data analysis, commercial modelling and produce meaning category and business insights.
  • Work closely with sourcing specialists, legal, finance and other business partners to support an efficient end to end source to contract experience for all stakeholders.
  • Support and/or lead negotiation strategies and communication plans for supplier negotiations and meetings.
  • Proactively work on initiatives to help contain contract-spend leakage and deliver contractual performance outcomes as required.

  • Understanding of end-to-end procurement processes (category led buying channels desired but not required)
  • Negotiation skills and experience in contract negotiations
  • Project management experience, including partnering and influencing stakeholders
  • Proactive with the ability to be autonomous, and contributor to a positive and strong team environment
  • Previous experience in leading teams desired, but not essential
  • Proficiency in using SAP, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
