About the Role
As the Procurement Specialist for Fixed Plant and Processing, you will play a vital role in ensuring the optimal supply of goods and services to the end-users on site, and provide commercial expertise to deliver value and support to a broad range of stakeholders. Role activities and duties include:
- Conduct end-to-end procurement activities, e.g. requirements gathering, baseline building, sourcing, negotiations, savings calculations, contract execution and contract management
- Deliver value by leveraging fact-based insight through strong analytics, understanding of contracts and driving strategic actions
- Proactive administration and management of contracts, inclusive of KPI reporting, spend analytics, identification of scope creep, and off-contract spend
- Amending contracts as required including updating or expanding scopes of services and schedules of materials and managing contract extensions
- Maintaining collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to become a highly valued contract expert, trusted with commercial support, negotiations and on-going contract management
- Keeping abreast of key external trends - from supply market dynamics, industry demand and security of supply risks, inflation and the broader macro environment, technological changes and industry innovation
- Driving collaboration by participating in cross-functional teams to identify and execute opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership (i.e. considering not only price but utility, demand, productivity and so on)
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to drive total value chain outcomes related to external spend using best practice tools
- Effective communication of strategies to all levels of internal stakeholders, from senior leadership to frontline operations
- Develop implementation and handover plan for contracts, to ensure that value is sustainably captured (which may include defining and tracking success measures)
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills (e.g. Excel) to build fact based insight and recommendations
- Honed stakeholder management skills to inform and influence a diverse stakeholder group
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Word and PowerPoint (experience using ThinkCell is highly regarded)
- Strong commercial acumen to balance business priorities with the total cost of ownership
- Ability to support the development and implementation of complex sourcing strategies
- Experience in tendering and sourcing
- Identify risks and appropriate commercial controls
- Ability to problem solve and think laterally to independently resolve issues and influence change
- Role models an ability to thrive in ambiguous environments
- Exercises sound judgement to listen; ask the right questions; validate assumptions and understand stakeholder requirements
- Skilled in conflict management & facilitation
- Approaching work with a strategic mind-set including the ability to identify new opportunities and drive them to implementation
- Background in engineering, mathematics, law, commerce, finance or accounting would be beneficial
- Previous experience in Consulting also beneficial
