About the Role
In this role as Procurement Specialist, you will play a vital role in the development of multi-year procurement strategies, partnerships and sourcing activities in the BMA Fixed Plant and Processing procurement team.
Role activities and duties include:
- Conduct end-to-end procurement activities including: the develop sourcing strategies, supporting stakeholders with scope development, management and co-ordination of tenders, develop negotiation strategy and participate in negotiations, identify opportunities for cost improvement and calculate how savings will be derived, contract drafting, preparation and management of relevant approval documents, execution and ongoing contract management.
- Manage commercial matters for contracts in your portfolio – escalations, dispute resolution, administration of contract changes/amending deeds, application if rise and fall mechanisms.
- Keeping abreast of the supply market, economic landscape and legislative/regulatory environment to identify factors that will influence the overall portfolio of contracts and services you cover.
- Build and maintain strong trusted relationships with external industry and internal asset & functional stakeholders.
- Deliver value by leveraging fact-based insight through analytics, understanding of contracts, and driving strategic actions.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to identify and execute opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership.
- Communicate strategies to all levels of internal stakeholders, from senior leadership to frontline operations.
About You
As a successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Strong commercial acumen to balance business priorities and ability to identify opportunities with a view of total cost of ownership, strong quantitative and analytical skills to build fact-based insight and recommendations.
- Ability to problem solve and think laterally to independently resolve issues and influence change.
- High analytical proficiency.
- Ability to support the development and implementation of complex, regional and / or global categories sourcing strategies, tendering and sourcing.
- Identify risks and appropriate commercial control options.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Background in procurement, processing, engineering, mathematics, law, commerce, finance or accounting would be beneficial.
Location and Roster
In this 12 months Secondment or Fixed-Term opportunity, you will be Brisbane Base and working on Monday to Friday roster.
