We are looking for an enthusiastic problem solver to join the Rio Tinto Iron Ore team as a Production Accounting Analyst.

As a critical member of the Finance team, you will be part of a vital link between the analysis of production outcomes, and financial impacts. Key responsibilities include:

  • Communication and Engagement: Proactively building and maintaining key relationships to bring together multiple teams across the organisation to obtain, validate and report up-to-date production performance data
  • Analysis: Accurate inventory tracking for financial reporting, consolidation of financial and production data to produce accurate forecasting with a key focus on a strong ability to problem solve, attention to detail and working through complex challenges
  • Tools and Systems: Ownership and maintenance of production data and Power BI tools
  • Continued Improvement: Own and drive continuous improvement across the reporting and data tracking systems and processes, with a passion to drive change across people, process and systems

What you’ll bring

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commercial, Engineering or similar backgrounds
  • Strong operational and/or financial background with ability to work through complex issues
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge and experience in SAP as well as high proficiency in the MS Office Suite with advanced Excel skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organisational skills
  • A passion for continuous improvement, personal development, and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Demonstrated ability and interest in challenging operational processes to find more effective ways of operating
  • Hunger to learn and continuously grow

Where you’ll be working

This role is based in Perth, at our head office in Central Park, and working Monday to Friday. We want you to have a great work/life balance, so the days, hours, location of work are flexible (including working from home). You may be required to travel to the Pilbara to support our customers on an as required basis.
