ABOUTGEMCO
Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 15% of the world's manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent position on a 7:7 Day shift roster, FIFO from Darwin, Cairns or Brisbane.
You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality laboratory performance, maintaining robust quality systems and supporting reliable sampling, testing and analytical processes across the operation
Key deliverables for the role are, but aren’t limited to:
- Maintaining and improving laboratory procedures, systems and documentation.
- Troubleshooting, maintaining and supporting laboratory instruments and sampling equipment.
- Providing technical guidance to laboratory colleagues and offering shift cover when required.
- Supporting accurate, compliant testing that meets ISO/IEC 17025 and internal quality standards.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Applying strong quality, safety and risk awareness in laboratory environments.
- Using sound judgement, initiative and problem-solving to resolve technical issues.
- Building collaborative relationships and delivering clear, supportive communication.
- Managing workload proactively, adapting to changing priorities and maintaining accuracy.
Qualifications for this position are:
- Tertiary qualifications in chemistry or relevant field.
- Manual driving license.
