Location 

Mt Arthur Coal is an open-cut coal mine, located in the Hunter Valley, NSW. It is the largest producer of energy coal in the region, operating alongside olive growers, wine makers, horse breeders and the nearby residential community of Muswellbrook.

About the Role

Mt Arthur Coal are currently seeking to employ a Production Coal Supervisor to join our high performing team. This opportunity is being offered on a residential basis in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of NSW. You will enjoy working a four panel, straight 5/4 roster, allowing flexibility throughout the week to complete daily activities if needed. Attractive relocation package on offer, for those looking to move to the beautiful Hunter Valley region.

As a Production Coal Supervisor your core role will consist of providing supervision to the coal team who perform a range of mining tasks including high quality pit coal recovery and providing coal supply to the CHPP. The Coal Supervisor will be responsible for ROM Management, coal prep activities and supervision of the Hitachi 3600 excavator fleet.

You will be required to maintain a safe workplace, provide visible leadership and manage the effective utilisation of shift personnel and equipment resources to achieve the mine plan and production targets.

You will carry out inspections relating to compliance & procedures, role model safe behaviours and be actively involved in field leadership activities.

Your strong desire to work with your team to ensure they are delivering their best will see you well placed for success. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are a must allowing you to build relationships across the team with other Supervisors and departments.

Reporting to the Coal Superintendent, you will also have: 

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in an open cut mining production environment or heavy industry manufacturing environment
  • Background in leading a team as a frontline supervisor, or step-up supervisor experience
  • Proactive attitude towards safety, and be a team player
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities

NSW OCE qualification is not a requirement for this positions.
