ABOUT THE ROLE

The purpose of the Production Coordinator role is to provide technical expertise and oversee the production activities of Calcination, ensuring optimal allocation of resources over both a short term and long-term planning horizon such that the required work is completed in a coordinated manner and in compliance with the relevant safety and technical standards.Additionally, to provide inclusive leadership and direction to the Production Execution team and effectively manage the execution of production processes to achieve the established performance targets for HSEC, Cost, Volume and Improvement

This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.  As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie.  

key responsibilities are, but not limited to:

• Coordinate production execution activities with other functions – Maintenance, Electrical, Production Coordination, Planning, Engineering, Maintenance Services, HSERT and production sub-functions through Superintendents and Supervisors.
• Effectively manage, monitor and routinely report on Work Management Key Performance Metrics.
• Work with the Process Control & Technical Support teams to improve the production execution activities.
• Supports the Superintendent and Teams by championing South32 Values, Code of Conduct and Care Strategy.
• Provide input into production strategies, budgets, and plans as well as the improvement of work management processes and critical controls for material risks.

ABOUT YOU 

• Technical: Self-reliant contributor with distinctive proficiency in the production / processing area with a minimum experience of between 3 and 5 years
• Leadership: Worked in a team and supported/guided peers and less experienced team member for between 1 and 2 years
• Previous supervisory and/or contractor management experience
• Previous experience in Planning, Scheduling and Coordinating resources
• Sound knowledge of Calcination, Filtration and Alumina Handling processes
• Broad understanding of the Mine Regulations and Acts
