Production Driller & Cablebolter

The Gwalia Gold Mine is located three kilometres south of the town of Leonora, Western Australia, and has been a flagship asset for our client St Barbara for the past 15 years. Macmahon is proud to be able to deliver a whole of mine service including mine development, ground support, production drilling and blasting, loading and trucking, shotcreting and paste fill reticulation from May 2021.
The Gwalia mine is the cornerstone of Leonora operations and has strong margins supported by good grades and a focus on costs and returns. The site has a track record of continuous improvement, with a recently upgraded mine ventilation system, and a previous significant upgrade of the accommodation village that incorporated a number of energy efficient and environmentally friendly initiatives. 

The Macmahon Underground team is seeking for a Longhole Production Drillers to work FIFO on a 2/2 roster (including dayshift and night shift) from Perth to project site. 

FIFO from Perth only.

Fleet consists of new Sandvik DL421’s, DL432i, and DS422i drills.
 

Essential Requirements:
 

• Previous experience working underground
• Current Manual Drivers Licence
• Self motivated and energetic
• Sound planning and organisational skills
• Safety conscious and positive attitude

You are responsible (but not limited) to the following:
 

• Interpret production targets and schedules
• Work pro-actively to achieve the targets, with Redpath supervisors, within the allotted timeframe
   

To be considered for this position you must be able to demonstrate the following;
 

• Experience with Sandvik i-series Drills highly regarded; 
• Ability to read and understand production drill and/or ground support plans;
• Strong knowledge & understanding of ground support standards
• Valid manual drivers licence
• Ability to pass a National Police Clearance and Pre employment medical
