The role of the Production Improvement Specialist is to support the delivery of the key production and Improvement opportunities across the supply chain. 

This role will be offered on a Permanent basis.


Location

This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.

As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie.

Accountabilities 

Primary responsibilities are to:

Capex delivery:

  • Minor Capex project IAR development
  • Provides support for CAPEX project delivery
  • Planning of minor capital projects from the Production Improvement portfolio including management of change approvals including relevant risk assessment processes, well designed work creation, contractor selection and budget definition.
  • Accountable for ensuring projects are executed safely (Section 44 delegation), to scope, on time and within budget.

Delivers on the identified inefficiencies in Execution

  • Support the identification of the improvement opportunities in the MEC activities impacting Production Physicals
  • Support Improvement Project development (Operating method)

Technical Support

  • “Field support” for engineers to support the improvement of the MEC
  • Accountable for the delivery of the critical Production improvement projects for site (Worsley Monthly Priorities, Business Plan)
  • Help problem solving high priority Production challenges
  • Support the review of the Operating Strategies

Investigates reported events

  • Production risk Assessment review & support
  • Production driven HAZOP
  • Major outage support (specific Knowledge based, coaching and uplift Production teams)

About You  

  • Specific experience and skills in and knowledge of the refinery area is essential (minimum 5 years’ Operations/ Production experience)
  • Worked in a team and supported/guided peers for between 1 and 2 years,
  • Process and Systems -proficient in (but not limited to): P2 Explorer, Alumina Refining, process, PowerBI (Reports), Microsoft 360 and G360
  • Contractor Management and Communication
  • Risk assessment
