ABOUT THE ROLE

To provide effective leadership, expertise and direction to the BBM operational production and Mine services departments so as to ensure the safe operation and continuous improvement of critical controls, production processes and equipment in accordance with the departments Operation’s plans, standards and process specifications.

This role will be based at our Mine operations near the town of Boddington. (10 mins from Boddington, 60 mins from Mandurah)

As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of the Mine site.  

key responsibilities are, but not limited to:

• End to end accountability of BBM production operations and Mine services departments and production work management cycles at BBM
• Deliver against BBM HSE, volume and cost targets within department
• Manage the material risk profile for the BBM production operation department and verify material risk critical controls are appropriately designed, deployed and effective
• Commit to and promote health, safety and environmental responsibility and sustainability practices within BBM production operations department
• Positively influence and shape the culture to ensure a safe, sustainable and disciplined approach to work within department

ABOUT YOU

• Expert / Professional with demonstrated experience guiding, developing and influencing practice in the operational production area
• Extensive experience in the operation of heavy equipment and the management of a large, multi-disciplined workforce within the mining industry.
• Several years’ experience in the management of large, diverse teams

Demonstrated ability to achieve results and problem solve through the utilisation of your team

• Departmental budget accountability / responsibility & project management
• Ability to influence and reach agreed solutions with multiple or larger groups of internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications for this position are:

• Degree in Mine engineering, sciences or business would be desirable but not essential.
