About the role
We are looking for a Production Site Support Lead for the APAC region. This role has been created to deliver valued IT support services to improve the experience of our customers at Rio Tinto operational sites.
As our preferred applicant you will have direct operational accountability for Level 2 support across mining and production sites in Asia Pacific. You will ensure services are delivered with a focus on the safety, health and wellbeing of the team.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Modern Workplace, you will
- Lead Level 2 support, combining services specific to the Product Group, Function or Site with group wide IS&T services.
- Define and communicate health & safety practices and processes for effective production site support, aligned with Rio Tinto standards and local regulations as an involved and committed HSE leader.
Customers in scope:
- Iron Ore – all Western Australia operations, including Dampier Salt
- Aluminium Pacific Operations – Gove, NZAS, Weipa, Bell Bay, Yarwun & Boyne
- Exploration – IT team across Belmont, Brisbane, Almaty, Johannesburg and Salt Lake City
- Copper – Winu
- Lead and develop the team with a supportive and collaborative approach, connecting into other IT teams and the global site support chapters.
- Manage budget and service delivery with partners supporting operations.
- Support Technology Platforms services to reduce production impact and income loss.
- Develop operational processes and resourcing plans aligned with support requirements.
- Establish, monitor and report key information for baselining and improvement targets.
- Drive continual improvement and best practice adoption in Site Support in collaboration with the rest of IS&T.
What you’ll bring
- Undergraduate or higher education in Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a relevant discipline
- 5-10 years experience leading teams across multiple geographic locations.
- 5-10 years working with outsourced vendors delivering multiple services.
- Knowledge of ITIL and IT Service Management practices.
- Knowledge of safe work practices in resources or similar industries.
- Highly desirable: Experience at a resource production site with HSE processes and familiarity with ServiceNow capabilities.
