King of the Hills (KOTH) is the flagship operation of Vault Minerals Limited and one of the largest gold mines in Australia. Undergoing significant expansion, KOTH is nearing completion of a 7.5 million tonne per annum (Mtpa) processing plant (previously 5.2Mtpa), providing a solid platform for long-term production growth. This dynamic operation combines open-pit and underground mining, with exciting exploration activities driving the future. KOTH is located approximately 900 km northeast of Perth and 25 km north of Leonora, within the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.
Reporting to the Production Superintendent, the Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating day-to-day mining production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations in line with the approved mine plan. The role oversees mining crews and contractor personnel, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards. The Production Supervisor will provide strong leadership, manage workforce performance, and drive continuous improvement across mining operations.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans to achieve operational targets.
- Coordinate mining activities, including drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and ore and waste movement.
- Monitor production performance and implement adjustments to optimise productivity and meet planned outcomes.
- Minimise equipment downtime and maximise the efficient utilisation of personnel, equipment, and resources.
- Work closely with Mine Planning, Maintenance, and Technical Services teams to deliver safe and efficient production outcomes.
- Allocate, supervise, and monitor the daily activities of mining personnel operating mobile plant and equipment.
- Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities for mine operators, including conducting regular performance reviews.
- Ensure all mobile plant and equipment operators are appropriately trained, assessed, and deemed competent for their assigned duties.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with site procedures and statutory requirements.
About You
- Demonstrated extensive experience in Mining Production Supervisor roles across open-pit gold and hard-rock mining environments, providing leadership for daily production operations, managing multidisciplinary workforces, and implementing continuous improvement strategies to optimize safety, efficiency, and production outcomes.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑based environment, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the capability to confidently engage, influence, and collaborate at all levels of the organisation.
- knowledge and understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020, and Work Health and Safety (Mines) regulations 2022.
- Experience working with fleet management systems, such as Wenco or equivalent mining fleet management technologies, is highly desirable.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office software, INX, Pronto and Power Bi.
- WHS qualification for the Statutory Supervisor Qualification (Schedule 26).
- Hold a current WA Driver’s License (manual C Class)
