ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Production Execution Superintendent, as Production Supervisor within the Powerhouse, the purpose of this role is to supervise the execution of production activities according to the schedule, standards and performance targets for HSEC, cost and volume. While, continually upholding and promoting the South32 Leadership Accountability Model.

This role will be offered on aPermanent basis.

This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes – bus available from Bunbury location only) and other nearby scenic communities.  

As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie.  

Key responsibilities are, but not limited to:

• Adherence to the statutory obligations and responsibilities involved with being a Section44 appointed supervisor
• Verify production execution employees and contractors adhere to work standards, are competent, and understands the purpose and functionality of critical controls relevant to their work.
• Adhere to defined standard procedures and apply safe work practices providing day to day leadership
• Deliver/receive handover and daily work plan tasks, understands and sets standard for the condition of the area and the work required for the shift.

ABOUT YOU 

• Demonstrated technical competence gained in power generation
• Demonstrated written and oral English language proficiency
• Currently Holds or can be appointed a General Section 44 Appointment
• Ability to follow safety and operating procedures and handle unit emergencies

Qualifications for this position are:

• Demonstrated technical competence gained in power generation
• Currently Holds or can be appointed a General Section 44 Appointment
• Holds an Advanced Boiler HRW License - desirable
• Holds a Turbine Operations HRW License - desirable
• Holds a minimum Certificate III - desirable
• Formal leadership qualification - desirable
• Understanding of the Control Room - desirable
