Winu is an exciting new copper-gold project located in the Paterson Province, Western Australia. The team is focused on strengthening our relationships with the host Traditional Owners of the land while also completing drilling, fieldwork and study activities to progress the project’s development pathway.
The Winu Production System is at the heart of who we are, what we do and is fundamental to our success. By standardising, testing and adjusting every aspect of the Winu business, we will create a resilient and stable operation that is prepared to thrive, irrespective of the commodity cycle.
To help define how Winu operates, we are looking for a Production System Analyst to join the Winu Operational Excellence team.
This is a unique opportunity for a professional who is passionate about driving integration, continuous improvement and operational excellence across an entire business.
Reporting to the Senior Advisor Production System you will work collaboratively with every area of the Winu business to:
- Document business requirements
- Understand and document all decision-making and information flow processes, ensuring to capture these via a systems engineering approach adopted from the military and space industries
- Be accountable for the ongoing development of a model that integrates and validates each area’s design for the entire Winu Operation
- Draw insights to identify and co-design improvement, assurance and change management opportunities
- Support the business in the development and delivery of these improvements

What you will bring
- Positive "can do" attitude who embraces change
- Results orientated with a proven record of delivering projects on time and to the required quality standards
- Demonstrated application of tools that document an organisation’s processes, information and/or decision flows
- Exposure to an operational, industrial, logistics, IS&T or manufacturing environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders effectively
- An ability to develop and distil key insights from complex analysis
It would be beneficial but not necessary to have had experience with the following:
- Lean and/or Six Sigma
- Application of a production system, management system and/or operating system (e.g. Toyota Production System, Rio Tinto’s Safe Production System)
- Systems engineering

Where you will be working
This is a Perth based role supporting the Winu copper-gold project. Winu is a 100% Rio Tinto owned copper-gold mineralisation project in the Yeneena Basin of the Paterson Province in Western Australia. The project is located approximately 130 km north of the Telfer mine and 350 km southeast of Port Hedland.
