About the role

We are looking for a Production Systems Engineer to provide and coordinate application support and system improvements to the Production Systems portfolio to ensure operational stability of these critical systems. This role is a great opportunity for someone to get in-depth knowledge of data acquisition and analytics platforms and help drive the strategy of how data can improve the productivity of the business.
This is a great opportunity for a team player to grow their career and be part of a multi-disciplined engineering team providing technical expertise to support internally developed and vendor produced applications and systems.
Reporting to the Superintendent Operations Support – APAC East and working in a collaborative and exciting environment within our IS&T function, you will:
- Provide level 2/3 support for historian systems, analytics tools and production accounting systems
- Ensure initiation and delivery of improvement and upgrade projects of systems and strategies
- Resolve implementation and configuration issues in conjunction with team, peers, customers and vendors
- Ensure development and upkeep of internal knowledge base management system and documentation.
- Research and recommendation of software, tools, solutions and new technologies
- Engage with end user to translate functional requirements into technical requirements
What you’ll bring
- Commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Tertiary Degree in IT, Computer Sciences or Engineering or extensive experience in a similar role
- Proficient in Aveva Ampla or similar delay accounting software
- Proficient in OSISoft PI Historian, PI AF and PI Vision
- Technical knowledge and experience with Windows (10, 2008/12/16) Operating Systems and Microsoft SQL server
- Understanding of control systems (PLC / Rockwell / CitectSCADA)
- Great communication and customer relationship skills
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Knowledge of network, server and storage infrastructure
- Knowledge of fleet management and mining systems (e.g. Wenco, CCLAS, EKA Stockpile Management)
- Previous experience within the mining, industrial or other extractive industries
- ITIL experience
