Production Technician - Manufacturing

Work location: Gladstone, QLD

Roster: Monday to Friday

The position requires someone who has very good attention to detail and is articulate with handling and assembly of delicate and critical parts. Ideally have good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collect and assemble components and mechanical parts
  • Inspect materials in process to ensure correct assembly
  • Perform tests to confirm correct assembly
  • Hands on mechanical approach with tools for assembly
  • Maintain cleanliness standard to avoid contamination of parts and assemblies
  • Teamwork requiring good coordination and communication
  • Perform activities with special attention to details; quickly, efficiently and safely.
  • Operate forklift, pallet jack, scissor lift, or other mechanical aids to handle raw materials and finished materials as needed
  • Operate cranes less than 5T to move assemblies and materials
  • Perform the material kitting to assist production as needed
  • Performing sampling and quality control testing on incoming components and final products
  • Visually inspect for quality and quantity as per operating procedures
  • Performing release activities on components and product
  • Possible inventory and stock handling in the warehouse, understanding logistics of supply and demand on parts and maintenance
  • Maintain operation status of the automated assembly lines as per operating procedures
  • Perform periodic review of process
  • Perform shift start, daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance tasks on assembly line
  • Assist with connections and fitment for testing purpose based on operating procedures
  • Assist to perform pressure, heat and other tests on assembly as needed
  • Perform in process and final inspection to confirm quality based on specified quality requirements
  • Assist with practical problem solving and solution development and implementation
  • High Ability to use and read measurement tools like callipers, pressure and temperature gauges

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Minimum of year 12 education with additional vocational or technical training in manufacturing field
  • Valid driver’s license  
  • Good analytical skills and high attention to detail
  • 2+ years of experience in working in an assembly or manufacturing process, preferred in a clean room process
  • Familiar with modern technology like computers and software
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Organised, efficient, good at multitasking, and driven to succeed
