Products and Prototyping Machine Operator

Work location: Dawson Road, Perth Airport

Roster: Monday to Friday

In this position you will have the opportunity to develop advanced products for green energy applications. The successful candidate will contribute through the operation of advanced manufacturing equipment to support various green energy manufacturing. Ideal applicants may have significant experience from the packaging, newspaper, or other advanced manufacturing skillsets.

Reporting to the Pilot Supervisor, you will contribute to building excellent working relationships with all customers, external and internal. In time, you will be able to provide support and recommend changes to enhance manufacturing efficiencies.

Key responsibilities:

  • Safe Operation, Troubleshooting and Optimisation of key Product manufacturing equipment within Green energy Sector
  • Knowledge of  Hydraulic and Electromechanical Equipment Operation including basic Diagnosing
  • Reads and follows work orders, production drawings, procedures, specifications, and other documentation and/or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed
  • Read, Interpret or at minimum be familiar with Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Schematics
  • Perform routine break down Maintenance and Report problems as required or as per Maintenance Plan
  • Strong participation in the commissioning and first-time operation of new Equipment
  • Assessment of trial and finished products using various physical testing equipment and instrumentation ensuring a quality product is delivered
  • Propose Equipment Optimisation and development
  • Perform quality and down time investigation with ability to propose preventive actions
  • Assists with Machine Operation setup and training of other members of the team
  • Ensures product targets are met with product deliveries on time as required
  • Ensuring technical best practice is adopted in pilot manufacturing
  • Develop equipment, instrument, and inspection working procedures
  • Maintaining and cleaning equipment as required  
  • Liaising with raw material suppliers and machine technicians to ensure final product specifications are achieved

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Electro Mechanical / Electrical Trade Qualification
  • Would also consider other Trades with suitable skills and relevant experience
  • Diploma in a technical trade, or high school diploma with an industry relevant skill
  • Solid understanding and industry experience working within one or more of the fields of adhesives, coatings, and/or elastomers, thin films, advanced manufacturing or industrial process plant experience will see you shortlisted
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in collaboration with other like-minded team members and adjacent project teams (also delivering a variation of the system)
  • Experience within R&D or Manufacturing Environment
  • Highly responsible and trustworthy
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management and logical decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong focus on safety required
