Process Engineering and Major Hazards’ Process Excellence team is currently recruiting for a Program Lead to support Rio Tinto Iron Ore achieve its strategic processing goals by aligning efforts of the division through integrated business processes. 

Reporting to the Principal Process Excellence Office, key responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage reporting and metrics associated with Throughput (and other) programmes
  • Ensure projects associated with the programme are in line with strategic priorities and are tracked effectively
  • Support the Process Engineering Technical Services Department to ensure visibility, sustainability and integration of delivered projects
  • Continuously improve program design to minimise duplication of effort, integrate work with business processes, and carry out work in a collaborative way with team partners
  • Support divisional managers through workshop facilitation and coaching
  • Support programme delivery through administration, coordination, and document management

This is a permanent position working Monday to Friday out of the Rio Tinto Central Park building office in the Perth CBD and the Operations Centre near the Perth Airport, with a mix of both. There will be flexibility to work from home on occasional days and ad hoc travel to site in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

What you’ll bring

To be considered suitable for this position applicants will bring professional knowledge of process engineering, asset management, or related systems with demonstrated experience in business improvement methodologies that contribute to programme improvements. Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills will be essential to be successful in the role and the ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in engaging, collaborating and communicating across large, multi-disciplinary teams. Proficient skills in Microsoft Office are also highly desired.
