Program Manager - Egypt

Work Location: Egypt(working from home arrangement)

This position supports the senior FFI leader in the host country, who is responsible for all operations therein.  The primary role is to provide support to leader the wider FFI presence and deliver the entire portfolio while identifying and securing add on business opportunities. In the early stages of project development, the Program Manager will support studies and approvals, through design, construction, commissioning and into operations.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Develop, support the FFI in country leader to ensure they deliver the projects to standard, on time and within budget.
  • Develop the key relationships with Federal, Provincial and local Government bodies associated with securing and developing the Fortescue Energy Target Hydropower sites across local area.
  • Interface management between sponsors and Projects team to proof and expediate information during study and projects phase.
  • Oversee engaged consultants to produce outcomes required to support development and delivery of the FFI Portfolio
  • Ensure FFI adheres to all Government regulations and procedures relating to maintaining our business licenses.
  • Support the FFI technical teams by engaging required consultants and Subject Matter Experts to ensure best practice and use of world leading technologies
  • Develop and Coach host country staff to help provide further growth opportunities
  • Implement innovative ideas to improve project delivery and highlighting FFI as the employee of choice
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including FFI Employees, FMG Executive Team, Consultants and Service Providers
  • Identify and prosecute opportunities to improve the FFI brand
  • Prepare board reporting as required to support the Country Director
  • Support planning, forecasting activities for the FFI in country budget
  • Maximise performance and culture across the team to provide a thriving environment

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering or a related field (preferably a Master's degree).
  • Project Management experience, in large scale, complex project delivery in developing country
  • Experience in the renewable energy value chain, to include power source and transmission.
  • Former executive experience in at least one of the following sectors: Renewable energy, construction, infrastructure, mining oil and gas fields.
  • Prior experience in the target country or country within the region
  • Understanding of key Project phases. From prefeasibility and feasibly to design, financial investment decision, construction and commissioning.
  • Sensitivity to different cultural norms.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Understanding of project management.
  • Fluent spoken and written English language skills as well as local languages.
