Project Accountant

Work Location: Perth 

Roster: Monday to Friday

In this role, you will support the projects team within FFI’s Green Energy business unit. You will be responsible for day-to-day project accounting in close liaison with cost controllers and other Project team members. You will be part of a newly formed, dynamic and exciting team supporting the global energy transition. To be successful in this role, you will need to be a quick but critical thinker, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform the month-end financial statement close (FSC) process for various Green Energy projects across multiple jurisdictions
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial and management reporting to stakeholders, including the provision of insightful analytical commentary
  • Provide support for the preparation of robust quarterly financial forecasts and annual budgets
  • Oversee project cash forecasting processes
  • Ensure the accuracy of accounting in accordance with Group Accounting Policies under IFRS. Raise technical accounting considerations in a timely manner
  • Prepare papers to document accounting treatment of transactions
  • Contribute to the design, implementation and ongoing monitoring of process and system improvements
  • Actively promote a safe working environment

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Minimum 5 years of projects accounting experience
  • SAP and PIMs experience is preferred. Experience with Power BI and/or Anaplan will be well regarded
  • Good understanding of IFRS
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines
  • CA or CPA qualified
