About the team you’ll be joining

Products and Software Development are committed to making a meaningful difference to the 49,000 people across Rio Tinto as they do their day-to-day jobs with our software. The P&SD Change and Communications team promotes the work P&SD teams do, enabling us to become a trusted provider of new and existing digital solutions for Rio Tinto.

We do this by implementing impactful marketing activities throughout Rio Tinto that build trust and showcase the value P&SD offers, while also fostering excellent communication within P&SD to build strong internal team cohesion and culture, underpinned by effective change management and strategy.

 About the role

We are looking for a Project Coordinator – Products and Software Development (P&SD) to be accountable for supporting the P&SD leadership team to coordinate and deliver activities related to the establishment of this new function.

Reporting to the Manager Program, Products & Software Development and working in a collaborative and exciting environment, you will:

    • Provide support with general administration, knowledge management, document control, communications, change management and onboarding activities.
    • Continue development and delivery of P&SD’s general onboarding program for the function to facilitate a consistent experience for each new team member
    • Contribute to improving processes across all streams within P&SD as the function scales
    • Monitor, track and action tasks, escalating and delegating where appropriate
    • Produce presentations and reports
    • Lead and assist in project-based workflow where required and be the go-to person for the extended team
    • Manage end to end service requests for stakeholders

What you’ll bring

    • Demonstrated experience in a similar project role with basic capability in project management practices
    • Ability to always be one step ahead, being proactive when it comes to the needs of the function
    • A helpful ‘can do’ attitude with good problem-solving attributes
    • Comfortable doing the behind the scenes work that keeps the team running
    • A quiet achiever with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems
    • Highly organised and have a solid working knowledge of standard administrative practices and procedures
    • Ability to create/learn how to create and manage web pages on SharePoint.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
    • A great multi-tasker who takes initiative with a business improvement mindset
    • Amiable and adaptable to different working styles
