Title: Project Coordinator – Rail 

Work location: Perth based (Hazelmere) 

Roster: 5/2 Roster (Mon to Fri) 

In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key projects is the Infinity Train which will harness gravitational energy and utilise regenerative battery electric technology to remove reliance on charging infrastructure. The Infinity Train project will significantly contribute to FFI becoming a major OEM in the growing global market for green industrial transport solutions. Based out of our new Hazelmere R&D facility and reporting to the green fleet development Project Manager – Infinity Train, we are presently looking for an experienced Project Coordinator.  

Key accountabilities will include: 

  • Organising, attending, and participating in stakeholder meetings 

  • Chair and facilitate meetings where appropriate 

  • Documenting minutes and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings 

  • Preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings 

  • Identify and register project changes as required from regular meetings 

  • Providing administrative support as needed to the Project Manager and Lead project Engineers 

  • Coordination of interface meetings and action tracking with other functions, including Engineering, Contracts and Procurement, Legal, R&D, Recruitment and Project Services 

  • Initiating and managing purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and new vendor onboarding and processing 

  • Financial reporting of purchase orders against budgets for project team 

  • Facilitating documentation input, reviews and issuing reports 

  • Support in management and supervision of consultants and contractors as requested by the Project Manager 

  • Constantly interacting with others in a positive and professional way to ensure that assigned tasks are completed on a timely basis. 

Qualifications and skills required: 

  • The successful candidate will have recognised experience in a similar role; experience with engineering contractors will be highly regarded 

  • Familiarity with project management and reporting software is desirable 

  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills 

  • Ability to show initiative, pre-empt problems and provide solutions 

  • Advanced reporting writing, interpersonal and communications skills 

  • Ability to work across multi-functions and engineering disciplines
