Project Development Manager
Work location: Canada - Regional
Roster: Monday to Friday
Summary
The Project Development Manager is responsible for identifying and developing opportunities to fulfill FFIs targets for producing green products, including hydrogen and ammonia, for a designated region. The Project Development Manager owns and protects the business case for an opportunity from concept through to handover to operations, engaging expertise from functional and project teams.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Prospecting (including opportunity identification and monitoring) phase, including gathering and assessing information across a range of categories to help define and frame the opportunity (power, land, water, approvals, social, environment and economic, market, partnerships)
- Developing, maximising and protecting the full business case value, in accordance with FFIs values, culture, policies, standards and procedures
- Ownership of the project from Idea – Opportunity – Project
- Achieving development targets for a set region(s)
- Ensuring early project, functional and other stakeholder input
- Engaging with and leveraging the expertise of functional teams across the business to secure land and tenure, develop approvals pathway, identifying market, govt and stakeholder relations
- Building and managing strong relationships with stakeholders where that relationship exists before, during and after project, including developing and owning the stakeholder management plan
- Producing and respecting the development and implementation budgets and schedules
- Timely and accurate reporting, with a “no surprises” mentality

About you
You will have:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience with 5 years in a development role preferred
- Degree qualified in law, planning, engineering, finance, environmental science or related field (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in the Hydrogen and/or Ammonia industries strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of the associated regional energy market
- Ability to understand and influence key decision makers
- Experience motivating high performing teams
- Capacity to manage high stress situations
- Collaborative management style and team building skills
- Strong commercial acumen and leadership skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage various elements simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail
- Conflict resolution skills
