Project Engineer

Work Location: Christmas Creek - Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

Roster: 4D/3R FIFO ex. Perth

Fortescue is currently seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to work with the Medium Term Mine Planning team at Christmas Creek. This role will have a diverse accountability covering site geotechnical responsibilities and mine design work.

Key responsibilities include:

• Infrastructure design including levees, OUDs, haul roads, waste dumps
• Pit designs 
• Management of clearing approvals
• Pit sequence design and rollout
• Development planning and sequence - 3MP and 2YP horizons
• Site Geotechnical responsible person
• Weekly & monthly Geotechnical inspections and reports

Qualifications and Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, or equivalent degree
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to liaise with a variety of workgroups and backgrounds
• Maptek Vulcan experience will be highly regarded
