Project Engineer - Electrical
Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.
Roster: 8:6 FIFO to Site, this role will commence in the Perth office initially (2-3 Months) until our Team goes to site.
Reporting to the Iron Bridge Senior Project Engineer, this role will be responsible for supporting the operation of the fixed plant through key project execution, support with contractor engagement & management, communication and being responsible for project budget management. Managing trades people and contractors, this role will execute various projects as determined by plant requirements and as allocated by Senior project Engineer.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Site based Project Management and implementation of varying projects, including schedule, cost, and quality control
- Manage a team of tradesmen and contractors to execute projects, and developing and maintaining project documentation to required standard
- Working closely with operational peers to ensure milestones and deliverables align with operational requirements, ensuring projects meet project objectives as outlined by Senior Project Engineer
- Assisting in monitoring of project costs, and ensuring on–site compliance with safety protocols, and assist Sr Project engineer with the long-term operation’s capital portfolio development
- Drive compliance to capital system and process, and facilitate contractor meetings for Project deliverables on site
- Portfolio performance reporting - cost, schedule, compliance on the projects allocated, and Contractor management
Qualifications and skills required:
- Minimum 3+ years fixed plant or heavy industry experience in an engineering and/or projects role
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Prior experience leading a team of tradesmen and contractors
- Knowledge of relevant Mines legislations and regulations and Knowledge of computer management systems, including SAP and Project
- Great communication skills: ability to facilitate meetings and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Planning, organisational, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination skills, with Advanced Excel skills
