About the Role
As the Specialist Project Engineer this role is responsible for the approval of engineering designs and execution of the Mines Electrification work in support of the Project Leads in the identification, selection and execution phase of a Proof of Concept (PoC) project or project area and to deliver the approved business objectives, within the constraints of scope, time, quality and budget.
This role will be based in Perth with regular site visits for an initial 12 month secondment or fixed-term.
Primary responsibility will be the development and ongoing management of the HV Electrical designs and interfaces for the Electrical Transmission & Distribution Contract.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Ongoing commitment to Safety Culture including compliance to SAF-076, Field Leadership
- Project manage the Electrical Transmission and Distribution project and manage all technical, commercial and delivery scope
- Have input to the project delivery methodologies, strategies, systems and execution plans for the Electrical System implementation
- Facilitate and participate in review and approval of all HV Electrical engineering documentation
- Liaison with project stakeholders – internal and external
- Liaison with site construction and commissioning management
- Continuous consultation, review, status reporting, risk identification and management including participation in HSEC Risk assessments for the project
- Assistance with timely review of Technical Queries (TQs) and engineering documentation
- Assistance with equipment factory acceptance testing (FAT)
- Assistance with shutdown planning and co-ordination with site
- Assistance with the development of the electrical and control system systemization for the Commissioning Completions Management System
- Provide support and guidance to the electrical project and package engineers for SMPEI contract packages
About You
To be successful in this role it is important that you are comfortable working within dynamic environments and have demonstrated experience managing ESP engineering effort. You will need to be an effective problem solver and influencer, possessing strong communications skills through all levels of stakeholder engagement. Your ability to manage multiple levels of complexity and clarify ambiguity will also be a key strength for this role.
In addition to the above, the following will be key selection criteria:
- Strong Project Engineering/Engineering Management experience
- Experience working with or managing ESPs and completing engineering deliverables in timely manner
- Exceptional understanding of design interfaces and ability to foresee and facilitate design works
- Electrical Engineering tertiary qualification
- Operational electrical engineering and HV experience is essential
