About the Role

This is a dynamic career role for an experienced Project Management professional with excellent stakeholder management skills to fulfil a broad scope of responsibilities across the project lifecycle from concept to handover. This will include overseeing concept studies, engineering design, technical, contractual and commercial requirements through to tender execution management and closeout. Central Pilbara Engineering projects are multidisciplinary, and our Project Managers manage projects with mechanical, electrical, structural, civil and technology aspects.

Reporting to the Lead Project Manager within the Engineering Modifications and Projects – Central Pilbara team, you will manage a portfolio of projects up to the value of $20M USD. Your role is essential in delivering projects to the agreed scope, budget, and schedule that you will define in the early phases of the project lifecycle. The Central Pilbara Engineering team is well established, and you will have ongoing support from several other Project Managers, Technical Engineers, Graduate Engineers, Drafting and Project Construction Supervisors in the department.

There are options for this role to be based at South Flank, Area C or Yandi which are all part of the Central Pilbara Engineering team.

The roles will be fly in fly out from Perth on a 5/2, 4/3 roster.  18 month Fixed-term opportunities are also available with potential for permanent position

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Development of Project budgets, plans, and schedules and supporting feasibility studies and cost- benefit analyses where required  
  • Engaging and coordinating stakeholders during the execution of work including operations, maintenance, technical engineers, construction supervisors, contractors, and other functional groups
  • Engage and manage external consultants and contractors, ensuring their work is completed within the terms of the Contact and safely achieves the required outcomes
  • Providing site specific input to the design of Engineering solutions and collaborating with engineers and construction supervisors in the team to develop great ideas
  • Monitoring and regularly reporting on project progress, ensuring action is taken to address deviations from the project program
  • Contributing to a safety orientated culture and ensuring the safety and quality of execution activities 

About You

You will have a genuine desire to develop your career yet contribute positively to team objectives, recognising the value of relationship building to influence and achieve business outcomes, communicating effectively at all levels.

You may also have the following:

  • A qualification in Project Management and/or Engineering (preferred)
  • Experience across all aspects of the Project lifecycle
  • Previous leadership experience is desirable
  • Proficiency in executing Engineering Modifications & Projects, preferably in a mining or similar industry environment   
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, these will be key components of this role as you will work with closely with a variety of stakeholders
  • A proven track record of safety management
  • Experience managing the contractual and commercial components of project management
  • Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills to liaise and negotiate within internal and external departments and contractors
