Project Estimator – Studies

Work Location: Perth - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: Monday to Friday

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Estimator to join our Strategic Planning Studies team. Reporting to the Senior Estimator, this role is responsible for carrying out cost estimation activities to support progression of projects through the study stage gates for the portfolio.

 Key accountabilities will include:

  • Development of an accurate estimate to support scoping, prefeasibility and feasibility study stages for mines and supporting infrastructure
  • Develop and assist in setting up estimation software database “Winest”
  • Develop and review tenders and proposals for quality, risk, accuracy, and completeness
  • Organize and maintain database of reconciled project costs for use in benchmarking
  • Work across the business to contribute to and aligned estimation process

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Degree qualified in Engineering (or equivalent) and/or relevant specific experience
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in estimation within the resources sector
  • Work experience in Winest will be preferable
  • Extensive knowledge of best industry practices and standards
  • Ability to adapt well to agile environments
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organisational and time management skills
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication and strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • High level of computer skill with Advance Microsoft Excel, Word, and MS Office package
