About the role:
We are looking for a Project Information Principal Advisor to work within our major projects team, engaging with external Engineering Service Providers and various Rio Tinto stakeholders to ensure that project information and data is appropriately set up and delivered in line with Rio Tinto’s recently revised Digital Delivery Strategy in a standardised manner across projects.
Our Digital Delivery Strategy will aid monitoring and review during project execution and significantly improve the ongoing usability of asset information by Rio Tinto Operations. You will play a key role in ensuring the information processes and systems used are aligned with Rio Tinto requirements
Reporting to the Engineering Manager – IO Projects and working in a collaborative and exciting environment within our global organisation, you will:
- Build relationships with senior stakeholders to deeply understand their business priorities, scope initiatives and document business requirements relating to data management
- Interface with the Digital Delivery Manager and the Document Management Leader to plan and execute requirements.
- Setup and manage project information systems, throughout the project life cycle (i.e., study, engineering, construction, commissioning, handover, operation).
- Ensure project information systems are fit-for-purpose
- Provide governance against internal and external standards across the business.
- Assist in defining equipment packages information system requirements.
- Ensure learnings from recent projects are applied to current and future projects.
- Build a culture where success is celebrated, ideas are shared, and continuous improvement aligned to business priorities is an ongoing focus.
What you’ll bring
The role is primarily focussed on supporting the set up and management of the business unit’s digital information systems to ensure they meet Rio Tinto requirements during both project execution and at handover. As such you will have:
- Experience with the planning, implementing, and managing project information systems.
- Detailed knowledge of project information systems (e.g. AVEVA, InEight, Aconex, 3D modelling and drawing software).
- Ability to recognise and communicate potential threats and opportunities and collaborate with other business units and stakeholders.
- Minimum of 10 years of Design Management and working within Intelligent systems
- A focus on delivering customer value, with the ability to rapidly understand business priorities relating to data and how it is managed
- Degree or qualifications relating to information management, data management or geoscience would be advantageous but not mandatory.
