We have an exciting opportunity with an immediate start, for a pragmatic and experienced Project Maintenance Manager to lead our team at Olympic Dam.  As the senior member of our South Australian team, you will support the growth of our footprint in South Australia by driving the success of our operations at Olympic Dam.

Working closely with our Western Region Maintenance team and our onsite operational team, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintaining equipment requirements for all mining activities to ensure delivery on the mines required production schedule.
  • Maintaining positive communications with Emeco’s client, contractors, employees, and other relevant key stakeholders.
  • Leading the execution of all maintenance planning, scheduling, and forecasting for the site.
  • Overseeing compliance to all legislative requirements for all contracted operations Emeco have responsibility for, and where possible also provide assistance to the Client in areas that ensure compliance as a whole.
  • Attending daily client meetings to provide operational availability of all site equipment and upcoming planned events; and
  • Owning project contractual obligations by leading and managing contractual and commercial issues.
  • Proactively reporting on project performance against contractual obligations (daily, weekly, and monthly).
  • Monitoring key contract risks including working with the legal team on contract reviews to make sound commercial decisions on contractual risk.
  • Driving project performance/profitability to meet project KPI’s.
  • Overseeing contract administration processes and financial KPIs of the projects.
  • Reviewing and track project profitability against targets, forecasts, and budgets; identifying and communicating areas of risk.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely reporting of performance vs budgets.
  • Providing key financial information and insightful operational analytics.

Your Skills and Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Extensive knowledge of mining and maintenance operations
  • Ability to demonstrate high level skills in maintenance planning, scheduling, and forecasting.
  • Proven experience in contract management in a complex and high value contract environment
  • Previous experience in being accountable for contracted deliverables, including performance of others where there are dependencies in the achievement of those deliverables.
  • Experience running the commercial aspects of a contract as well as driving continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to review and provide recommendations on financial performance across multiple projects.
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to operate in a collaborative working environment.
  • High level attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability in delivering project objectives and targets.
  • Good understanding of business and finance goals in conjunction with overall project requirements.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to deal effectively with difficult situations and a willingness to find creative solutions; and
  • Strong time management and effective organisational skills, with the ability to think laterally, work under pressure and achieve work deadlines in an environment of competing priorities.
  • Strong understanding of safety practices
