The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that the Emeco fleet of mobile equipment is maintained in a safe and mechanically optimum condition, resulting in maximum availability for the client whilst complying with the Emeco Occupational Health and Safety Management Plan.

Key Responsibilities Include
- Monitors and ensures the necessary manning levels and equipment are available to perform the planned tasks.
- Updates the project program with the % complete, est to go’s, changes to scope and supply dates.
- Monitors and controls all issues with reference to any contractual availability guarantees either as part of an initial equipment sale or as part of a rental or lease agreement in order to protect the company’s interests.
- Implements auditing processes on projects systems.
- Ensures project reporting is completed: monthly project progress reports to the client and internally including safety, performance, manning and QA/QC.
- Projects shutdown cost controls.
- Collates the Project Financial Progress Report monthly and each quarter.
- Ensures weekly and long-term plans are completed as per the site contract obligations for site.
- Manages the hiring and procurement of equipment on site. (Advise through to commercial)
- Oversees on-site service contracts to agreed levels of success.
- Building of relationships with customers at all levels of the organization with an emphasis on corporate management personnel in Mining, Maintenance & Procurement.
- Consults with customers on strategic planning to assist with parts forecasting to minimise stock holdings and ensure proactive ordering of parts, anticipating machine needs.
- Participates in regular Emeco and Client maintenance meetings as required.
- Manages customer projects, e.g., from conceptual stage to execution.
- Contributes to maintaining an organisation culture and environment that connects and aligns people resources and behaviour with Enterprise and Regional Vision and Mission through personal actions, teamwork, and effective human relations.
- Coaching of Supervisors and potential FTEs for bench strength; Taking responsibility for maximising the performance of the maintenance team, providing leadership and technical support, and ensuring team takes responsibility for their tasks.
- Provides leadership and guidance on technical and commercial issues, as it relates to the maintenance team.
- Co-ordinates maintenance teams to carry out all related maintenance activities to ensure equipment is always maintained to a high standard.
- Support site based HR activities including recruitment of project potential employees.
- Identify opportunities and implement continuous improvement initiatives that improve Emeco processes, systems and performance.
- and develop plan to reduce incidents.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience with the maintenance of heavy earth moving equipment frequently used in the mining industry.
- Minimum 5 years heavy workshop and field maintenance experience in a managerial capacity.
- Ability to influence and communicate effectively across all layers of an organisation and with any stakeholder group.
- Sets and implements clear standards of integrity, consistently demonstrates behaviours supporting organisational values and addresses inappropriate behaviour actions.
- Proven strong client management and liaison skills and has good understanding of customer operations and equipment usage.
- Knowledge of what drives equipment productivity in the mining environment.
- Commercially astute and able to handle complex deals and negotiations.
- Able to apply business, financial and technical strategic thinking concepts.
- Able to manage the capital expenditure program in relation to programming, cost control and allocation.
- Strong leader with the ability to mentor, coach, and delegate tasks
Educational and Technical Qualifications:
- Certificates: relevant nationally recognised trade qualification
- Certificate IV in Leadership and Management or equivalent
- S123, Standard 11 & G2 qualification
- Drivers Licence
