Work Location: Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.
Roster: 4 Days on, 3 Days Off - FIFO ex Perth
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Project Manager – Eliwana Hub Mine Development to join our Eliwana Operations team. Reporting to the General Manager – Eliwana, this role will be accountable for leading the planning, coordination and execution of the Mine development pathway for future deposits at Eliwana east, to sustain mining and ore supply as the mine layout expands significantly.
The role will provide leadership across planning, approvals, technical studies, mine design, infrastructure development and operational readiness activities to ensure first ore delivery in accordance with the 10 Year plan strategy. The Project Manager will act as the central integration point between technical disciplines, operations, approvals teams and Traditional Custodians engagement processes.
To be successful in this role candidates must have strong interpersonal skills with good understanding of operational, approvals and mine planning functions within the mining industry, including the technical and support functions that support these areas. The candidate will possess strong project management and communication skills and being able to articulate potential risks and opportunities within the planned works to the relevant stakeholders.
The role will also support the commercial governance of the project by coordinating study costs, capital estimates, budgets and investment requirements throughout the development pathway.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the Eastern Eliwana deposits development integrated project schedule, critical path and milestone tracking.
- Integrate mine planning, resource development, approvals, infrastructure and operational requirements into a single project execution plan.
- Lead project team meetings, stakeholder engagement sessions and leadership updates.
- Drive accountability across workstreams to ensure delivery against committed timelines.
- Work closely with Mine Operations, Operations Planning, Technical Services and Approvals teams to identify operational constraints and readiness requirements.
- Partner with Finance, Operations Planning and Technical Services to develop capital estimates, manage project budgets, track expenditure and support business case development for future mining areas.
- Escalate risks, constraints and decision requirements to project sponsors and management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Engineering, Project Management or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary mining projects.
- Experience coordinating approvals, technical studies and operational stakeholders in major mining operations.
- Strong understanding of open pit mining operations and project development processes in open cast mining operations.
- Proven ability to manage complex schedules and multiple workstreams.
- Strong interpersonal skills with both operations and technical teams
