Project Manager - Decarbonisation

Work Location: Fortescue, Bennett St; Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.

Roster: Monday – Friday

The Decarbonisation team’s objectives include the design and implementation of a globally available portfolio of technically and commercially viable decarbonisation solutions. Our immediate focus is to deliver real zero emissions in our Australian iron ore operations by 2030. The Decarbonisation team consists of a mix of core central roles complemented by dedicated and experienced personnel across related functions and operations within the business to ensure joint ownership of optimal solutions from design to deployment.  

The primary focus of the role is to provide Project Management services to support delivery of integrated, operable, and maintainable, zero emissions solutions for Green Mobility. Scope of project works will include Light Mobile Equipment, Support Mobile Equipment and Heavy Mining Equipment and emissions sources making up Top 10 areas. To be successful in the role, you will have experience in project management and delivery in Operations, Maintenance, Construction or Mining and the passion to transition to green technologies and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and document project scope and resource requirements
  • Manage projects to ensure that all deliverables are on time, budget and within scope
  • Manage projects across full lifecycle, or be able to provide resources to support specific project stages in support of another team member
  • Coordinate stakeholders across several organisations, including OEM Vendors and Operations
  • Use industry and operational knowledge to influence development projects and ensure products are fit for purpose
  • Coordinate across mine planning, operations and maintenance teams to provide detailed operational requirements and voice of the customer documentation
  • Operational Readiness activities including deployment of trial/prototype equipment to site to prove solutions

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualification in mechanical, mining or another relevant engineering discipline 
  • Complementary qualifications or demonstrated experience in project management or scheduling.
  • Sound experience in mining or civil construction industries with SME/HME equipment
  • Trade qualifications with the right additional experience will also be considered
