Project Manager - Hydraulic Barrier
Work Location: Solomon -Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.
Roster: 4D/3R FIFO ex. Perth
Fortescue recently announced the approval of the Queens mining area at Solomon Hub. Part of this development is the construction of a hydraulic barrier that is proposed to consist of a cut off wall and a grout wall. The barrier is around 2 km long and up to 100 m deep.
Reporting to the Manager of Drilling the Project Manager role is required to take the project through detailed design and into construction and then commissioning and testing.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Delivering a safe workplace and strong safety culture within the team
- Management of consultants and subcontractors
- Input to construction methodology
- Developing a team to supervise and direct works
- Daily, weekly and monthly reporting as well as cost and schedule tracking and reporting
- Material logistics
- Input to the wider drilling team and site teams to ensure safe delivery of the project
Qualifications and skills required:
- Relevant Engineering degree
- Experience in subsurface construction/mining works
- Ideally exposure to cut off/ grout wall project
- Strong planning, organisational, communication and leadership skills
- Experience with direct labour crews
- Demonstrated experience in delivering health, safety, quality and environmental objectives
- Ability to provide planning, support and reporting for relevant civil and structural works
